A Comparison between Intravitreal Bevacizumab Injection and Placement of a Dexamethasone Implant to Treat Retinal Vein Occlusion Macular Edema

چکیده
Purpose: We evaluated the macular, functional and structural features of patients with retinal vein occlusion macular edema. measured best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), central foveal thickness, area avascular zone after intravitreal bevacizumab (IVB) treatment placement a dexamethasone implant (IVD).Methods: retrospectively reviewed 36 eyes edema who underwent IVB (20 eyes) IVD (16 eyes). The parameters mentioned above were compared between two groups normal contralateral initial stabilization 1 year later. Results: BCVA was significantly higher in than group later. intraocular pressure lower at group, but no difference apparent year. There significant between-group thickness any time, required fewer injections during group. In terms area, both superficial deep layers increased period then decreased to year; changes seen group. Conclusions: is associated more stable vasculature, may possibly decrease (because cataract formation). Although improves reduces edema, this be an risk ischemia given need for repeated injections.
